Since its founding in 1952, H. J. Russell & Company (Russell) has become the most prominent Black-owned construction services business in the United States. Initially founded by Herman J. Russell as a general contracting company, Mr. Russell expanded the firm to include other areas such as real estate development, property management, and program management through the years.
